The SMS robotics team had a great year again in 2023. Throughout the year South competed in 8 tournaments and came home winners in 5 of them. South was also crowned the Idaho State Champion as well. At the end of March South sent two teams to Council Bluffs, Iowa for the US Open National Championship where South was very competitive. Then at the end of April South attended the VEX World Championships in Dallas, Texas where 480 teams from over 20 countries competed for the World title. At the World Championships, South placed 48th out of 480 teams which secured a top 10% position for the kids from Nampa, Idaho.
We are very proud of all our robotics students and look forward to what next year’s group might accomplish. It is truly inspiring watching the growth of our kids as they engage in a highly competitive STEM environment. These kids will accomplish great things in the future.
