Homework for the week: Complete your task for the literature circle and read through 5/6 of your book by Friday. You should finish it by Friday, May 18.

Monday: Writing a haiku.

Tuesday: Writing an Acrostic Poem.

Wednesday: Work also on an Ode.

Thursday: Start creating a Poetry Powerpoint to add to our Portfolio.

April 30 - May 4

Homework for the week: Complete your task for the literature circle and read through the second third of your book by Friday.

Monday: Discussion Day 21. Introduce poetry by reading a few poems and analyzing the poems.

Tuesday: Continue working on poetry by reading and answering questions about a few famous poems. Check in on how the Literature Circle work is going in preparation for Friday.

Wednesday: Read and analyze poems from the Close Reader Workbook (pgs 55-60).

Thursday: Finish reading and analyzing poems from the Close Reader Workbook (pgs 55-60).

Friday: Meet as Literature Circles. TAP writing assignment.



April 23-27

Homework for the week: Complete your task for the literature circle and read to the first half of your book by Friday.

Monday: Discussion Day 16. Read more about the Triangle Fire from the Collections Textbook.
